TTNG launches awareness drive on benefits of travel agents

The Travel Network Group has launched an awareness drive to educate consumers of the benefits of using a reputable travel agency.

The consortium, which represents more than 1,200 independent travel businesses, has created a toolkit for members to increase consumer awareness of agents through local media channels.

Chief executive Gary Lewis said: “Following a long period of absent travelling it’s never been as important to support our members and help them talk about the incredible benefits that travel agents bring to the industry.

“With long airport queues and travel disruption, our industry is facing further uncertainty from a consumer perspective. With this initiative, we’re looking to help our members inspire confidence in bookings, no matter the travelling climate, as they will be there to support their customers throughout their booking journey.”

Agents are being provided with a range of press assets to put them at the forefront of consumers’ minds, including key information on the benefits of using a travel agency in the current climate, tips on how to avoid falling victim to fraudulent holiday activity such as fake websites or ‘too good to be true’ email offers.

TTNG is also encouraging members to use marketing assets such as social media squares or banners, A4 offer cards and videos, to give clients reassurance that they are booking with a reputable business. The assets are available on the group’s intranet, The Hub.
